Personal Statement

For production in any phase; pre-production, production or post, I bring years of experience and skill to any project I'm involved with.

When you need a Videographer with a good eye and the ability to get the shot, I'm your man.

If you need a Non-Linear editor who can take direction, discover and correct issues before they become problems and finish on time, I'm your guy.

Need someone to oversee a project? Make sure everybody has what they need, know where they need to be and when and are communicating with each so the production can maintain its timeline? I'm that person.  I can also perform as a shooter-producer-editor and have done so many times.

 

I am looking for a full-time position preferably but I'm not opposed to part time or as-needed work. I enjoy being part of a team with everyone working towards a common goal or in a more independent role working on assignments.

With editing my goal is always to use footage in the most attractive manner to underline the message without losing the viewer in visual clutter and always keeping the post-production deadline in mind.

Shooting for me is the art of capturing the action without drawing undo attention to the camera and taking the viewer out of the scene. I know that good video starts with good camera work. Controlling what the view sees is the first step in creating the final piece. I know my experience as an editor has helped make me a better videographer, knowing what the footage will look like in the edit bay and knowing what the editor would like to see.

I’ve found that the best producing is when you allow the team members to each contribute their skills and act as facilitator and overall time-keeper.  Direct and make sure everyone knows what the expectations are.  Be aware of the current stage the work is in and how long until the next step, and in what way you will bring the piece to completion providing motivation and a sense of urgency.
